Hello Dears,

Spring is arriving. I am being lifted and nourished by the cherry blossoms outside my windows. As things are very busy, I am finding space for calm and quiet, balancing so much activity with rest, and if not rest - a pause. Studio News + Upcoming Show

Dear Ones,

This spring was so very busy in getting ready to make my forthcoming album that I've had time for little else! I thought I would share with you a few photos from the studio. We recorded twelve songs in June at The Map Room, a small and amazing sounding room in SE Portland - very happy with everything that was made there, with my engineer/collaborator Jeremy Harris (Vetiver), and additions from Bizarre Star Strings. We have one more stretch of recording in August and then will move on to the mixing and mastering phase. After the summer I'll start playing shows again, and getting ready to tour a lot in 2018 and release the record! I love these songs and can't wait to share them. I do have one upcoming show in Portland, for those who'd like a first glimpse -

Thursday, July 13th
6:30 PM (Music @ 7:30)
Wildheart's Apothecary
Backyard Sesssions
4114 NE 74th Ave
Portland, OR

BYO Blankets + Beverages
$5 Suggested Donation
Advance Tickets

It will be a solo set and we can all have fun hanging out in the summer weather!

I'll be sending out updates through email over the next few months about the album release, next stages and upcoming shows (and of course stories and photos as always), please sign up for my mailing list if you want to hear more and stay in touch. With love, L.

UPCOMING SHOWS + NEW VIDEO "TORCH"

Dearests,

I'm very excited about two upcoming shows that I have, one this Friday (2/3 at Beacon Sound) and one on 3/2 (at Holocene). These shows were coordinated with thoughts of sisterhood, community, and activism, and also a degree of facing some fears about stepping into a leadership role and taking on the role of 'organizer.' It's new and it's good, and I have a new song that I'm feeling connected to and ready to share. I've been busy making home demos and working on arrangements for the new record, and last weekend miraculously found a spare day to create a video for the NPR Tiny Desk Contest 2017. How lovely, it's of an unreleased song called "Torch" (which perhaps you've heard me play live if you've popped into a show recently). I hope your hearts are all holding up in this sad cloud of the world we're under - my heart is with yours and I hope we'll find ways not just to pull through but to make something better, like diamonds under pressure.

Friday 2/3 Beacon Sound
DOORS 7PM $5 Suggested

Songwriting Workshop / East Coast Dates

Dear Friends,

Happy Summer! I have a few small announcements about what's happening around here. I have some tour dates coming up for the next couple of months, with some local Portland dates in the works for late fall and winter. I'm working on putting together a group of vocalists and harmony singers to flesh out what I love most - harmony. I've never done this live in a real regular way, and it's something my soul has been yearning for for a long time. I'm hope to have that line up set and ready to play in angelic choir fashion for my winter shows. Here's what's happening so far -

August 30th - San Francisco, CA @ Amnesia
August 31st - Los Angeles, CA @ Hotel Cafe
September 2nd - Nevada City, CA @ FoxHound

October 5th - Monhegan Island, ME @ Monhegan Church
October 6th - Boston, MA @ House Show ***
October 7th - Hudson, NY @ Spotty Dog Books
October 9th - Brooklyn, NY @ Pete's Candy Store

Also, I've designed and created my own songwriting workshop that I am running again starting the first week of September. I did a test run in April and am so excited, as well as a little bit nervous to be running it again this fall. It was so very rewarding both to lead and to participate in and you can find out more and apply via the workshops page. Space is limited so I would recommend registering soon if interested. This workshop is online so is open to you, wherever you are in the world... that's part of what makes it so special.

with all my love, wild foxgloves and summer apples
